Some people have long, thick eyelashes. The rest of us, not so much. But now anyone can have great eyelashes thanks to Latisse, the eyelash enhancer!
The eyelash-enhancing abilities of Latisse were discovered accidentally when glaucoma patients used Lumigan (an eyedrop containing similar components to what is now Latisse) and noticed that their eyelashes had become longer, darker, and fuller as a side benefit of the eyedrops.
Dr. Patricia K. Farris and Dr. Mamina Turegano can help you find healthy, great-looking lashes with Latisse eyelash treatment. Learn more about what Latisse can do for you by calling Old Metairie Dermatology at 504.836.2050 or by filling out our online contact form today.
What is Latisse?
Latisse is applied nightly on the upper lash line like an eyeliner. Bimatoprost, the active ingredient found in Latisse, encourages growth in both the length and thickness of your eyelashes. The treatment works gradually and your eyelashes will experience real growth over time, generally after 12 to 16 weeks.
Once you start with the treatment, the topical solution must be applied continuously each night until you achieve the desired results. Once you stop using Latisse, your eyelashes will return to their previous appearance over the course of a few weeks to months.
Latisse gives your lashes real, measurable growth. You will first notice a change in length, gradually followed by an increase in thickness and darkness of the lashes. Do not stop once you’re satisfied with the results; continue the treatment for the full 16 weeks for optimal results. If you seek to continue another round of Latisse, you will again need the prescription of one of our doctors. Learn more about Latisse eyelash treatments at Latisse.com.
